It is new in the box; the bands holding the packaging together have never been cut. AND the surplus condition code, which is generally either CC4 or CC7 even when something is still obviously new in the box in this case is CC1, which indicates new. I’ve been dealing with this same government supplier for years and this might be the third time I have seen them label something CC1. I bought the lot this was in hoping one of the smaller units might be 110VAC in which case it was going to be for personal use. But alas, it’s looking for 220. So it needs to find a new home, preferably one with a 220 outlet. Not surprisingly these big boys also need 220. As pictured, two are available to start with, price is for ONE. I don’t claim to be an authority on these things but I should point out that the heating output is intended to be supplemental as apparently it will cycle on and off. I initially had this unit described as a heat pump but it was brought to my attention on the smaller unit that instead it’s probably just an electric heating element in the thing. I have a Comfort Aire RAH-183M 18,000 BTU listed as well and that says right on the box heat pump, so when i saw “Heat” on this box I assumed it was also a heat pump. Apparently I was mistaken. Please do your own homework relative to any intended application, as once it has been opened it’s yours to keep. All items are sold as is with no warranty offered unless one is specifically stated. Any testing done will be explicitly stated in the listing and any accessory items will also be mentioned or pictured. If it isn’t pictured or mentioned you can assume it is not part of the sale. Let’s try to keep it local. The box weighs more than my scales can handle and is ridiculously large, and the piece is not packaged to withstand UPS or fedex handling. Pickup only please. It is stored in 27966 but I could easily transfer it to my home, which is just a block off the beach on the Outer Banks of NC, 27948.
